Amarillo Dusters Seeking Host Families for the 2024 Season

Amarillo, TX — The Amarillo Dusters, a proud member of the National Arena League, are actively searching for dedicated and supportive families to serve as Host Families for our players during the upcoming 2024 season. Becoming a Host Family is a unique and important role within our community, offering a “home away from home” to our professional athletes as they pursue their dreams of advancing their football careers.

Although we are a professional football team, we operate on a limited budget and serve as a platform for athletes to continue their football careers after exhausting college eligibility. Scouts from the UFL, NFL and CFL closely follow teams like ours in search of undiscovered talent—players who could be the next big stars. The Amarillo Dusters provide that opportunity, but it’s the support of the community, specifically through our Host Family program, that makes a huge difference in the lives of our players.

Host Families play a crucial role in easing the financial burden on our athletes, who are on a minimum salary, by providing them with a comfortable living arrangement during their time in Amarillo. The players arrive in mid-to-late February for a pre-season training camp and remain throughout the season, which includes 12 regular-season games, and potentially playoffs into July.

Hosting a player comes with its own unique rewards, including the thrill of cheering on an athlete you’ve personally come to know as he plays in a professional game. Imagine being able to say, “I know that guy—he lived with me!” Not only does this experience offer the chance to help an aspiring athlete achieve his dreams, but it also creates the foundation for lasting friendships between the player and the Host Family.

In return for your generosity, all Host Families will receive season tickets and additional benefits, including the excitement of being part of the team’s success—and maybe even a future NFL or CFL star’s journey!
